Like many other schools, both locally and nationally, we ask you for a voluntary contribution for our School Fund each academic year. If you have contributed already this academic year, there is no need to take any further action. Furthermore if you have children in both schools we only request that you pay the School Fund once.
This fund has been used to pay for activities, such as visiting theatre groups and entertainers, which we would not be able to afford through Government funding. All of the children in the school benefit from this money but we are very much reliant on the generosity of parents to ensure there is sufficient money to improve our school and pay for additional resources to create a vibrant and attractive place for your children to learn. Recently, the School Fund has contributed to improving the IT infrastructure, classroom improvements, library improvements, enrichment activities and playground equipment, as well as much more.
Without your generous donations, this wouldn’t be possible.
We ask for one contribution of £25 per child, or £35 per family, towards our School Fund each academic year. You can pay using our online service Tucasi, the default £25 will need to be overwritten for family payment, or by cheque, payable to St Martin's C of E Junior School.
You can find out more about our Tucasi on our Online Payments page.
As aided schools we have obtained charitable status and as a result are able to reclaim tax paid on donations, subject to completion of a Gift Aid Declaration. We hope that many of you will feel able to sign the declaration, particularly as there is no extra cost to the you, the donor.
Gift Aid enables us to reclaim tax, at basic rate, on donations paid to the school. Basic rate tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give £20 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £25 to the charity (in addition, higher rate taxpayers are able to claim further tax relief by filling out a self-assessment tax form).
Please return the reply slip with your donation.
If you have any questions regarding school fund then please do not hesitate to contact either of the school offices. We look forward to us receiving your School Fund contribution and thank you for your continued support of our schools.
